By Rubén Morales Iglesias: EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers edged out the homestanding Capital City Kings in the Belize Premier Basketball League Friday night clash at the UB Gymnasium in Belmopan. The visitors secured a narrow 94-92 victory in a game defined by clutch performances and high-intensity play.
Leading the charge for the Dream Ballers was Deshawn Brackett, who recorded 20 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Daniel Conorque contributed 15 points, while Raheem Thurton added another 15 points, shooting 60% from the field.
Belmopan’s Nisani Mendez led all scorers with an impressive 40 points, shooting 68.2% from the field and sinking five three-pointers. Brandon Flowers followed with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Jayden Lopez tallied 10 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.
The game saw significant swings, with the Kings battling back multiple times in the fourth quarter. However, the Dream Ballers maintained their composure, delivering key baskets in the closing minutes to hold off the late surge.
