International News: Israel claims air superiority over Tehran; U.S.-Iran talks canceled amid rising tensions

By Zoila Palma: Israel now has “aerial freedom” over Tehran after destroying key Iranian air defense systems, according to an Israeli military spokesperson.

IDF Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said Israeli jets and drones operated over Tehran for over two hours, hitting 40 targets in the capital region in their deepest strike into Iran to date, CNN reports.

The announcement comes as diplomatic fallout grows.

Oman confirmed the cancellation of the sixth round of U.S.-Iran nuclear talks due to Israel’s attacks. Iran called ongoing negotiations “unjustifiable” under current conditions.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Iranians to rise against their government, but locals rejected his appeal.
