By Aaron Humes: A San Pedro Town man who had just refueled a Jetski at the Gas and Go station near the Lagoon survived without major injuries after it suddenly exploded.

Reports from the island say the man, identified as 26-year-old Jeffery Molina, arrived just before 10:30 a.m. As he was leaving, there was a loud explosion and Molina was sent flying into the air, landing in the lagoon, while the Jetski drifted further into the lagoon and burst into flames.

San Pedro fire personnel extinguished the fire near Mangrove Drive along the lagoon. According to Molina, a resident of Angel Coral (Back) Street, he tried to start the Jetski but it would not turn over; the Jetski exploded on the second attempt.

Molina escaped with minor injuries to his left foot. Police are investigating.
