Premier Basketball League of Belize: Western Ballaz face tough test Saturday against unbeaten San Pedro Tiger Sharks

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Cayo Western Ballaz (2-1) are back in action Saturday night in the Premier Basketball League of Belize as they take on the undefeated San Pedro Tiger Sharks (4-0) at Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio at 8:00 pm.

Tonight’s matchup presents a tough challenge, as San Pedro remains the only unbeaten team in the league. The Western Ballaz will need a strong performance to hand the Tiger Sharks their first loss of the season.

On Friday night, the EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers (3-1) edged the Capital City Kings (1-4) 94-92 in Belmopan. The game saw standout performances from Deshawn Brackett, who led the Dream Ballers with 20 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, while Kevon Laurie dominated the boards with 13 rebounds. Despite a heroic 40-point effort from the Kings’ Nisani Mendez, the Dream Ballers held firm in the final minutes to secure the win.

The weekend action continues on Sunday, June 15, when the Dream Ballers return home to face the PG Panthers (2-1) at Russell “Chiste” Garcia Auditorium in Dangriga at 8:00 p.m. The Panthers, currently tied for second place, will be looking to solidify their position in the standings.
