Belize Airports Authority cancels security contract at No cost to the authority

By Zoila Palma: The Belize Airports Authority (BAA) announced that on Friday, June 13, 2025, the BAA secured deeds of release from both of its security service providers, namely Four Diamond Security Limited and ISecurity Limited.

“This agreement formally concludes all prior contractual obligations between the BAA and both security companies,” an official release said.

The BAA says that it continues its investigation into the tendering process utilized to award the airport security contracts and all matters related thereto, and it will take such further steps as may be necessary after the investigation.

The BAA also advised that operations continue seamlessly under new arrangements.

The Authority is actively implementing its forward-looking security strategy to ensure Belize’s airports meet the highest international standards.
