Corozal man charged with rape and sexual assault of 12-year-old girl

By Aaron Humes: A man from Corozal, aged 39, has been charged with four counts of rape of a 12-year-old minor relative and three counts of sexual assault in multiple incidents, one dating back as much as six years.

According to police in Corozal Town, the minor and her mother reported on May 29 that the girl had been sexually assaulted in 2019 and again in 2025, which was confirmed by medical examination.

Police spoke to multiple persons before filing charges. The accused has been arraigned in Corozal Magistrate’s Court and remanded to the Central Prison.
