Mother pleads for assistance in locating missing child

By Zoila Palma: The family of 13-year-old Lizy Suntecun, a Guatemalan student who was reported missing on Monday, June 16, 2025 is gravely concerned about her whereabouts.

Lizy, a student from Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala, was last seen on Monday morning at her school in San Jose Succotz Village, Cayo.

She is described as being of Mestizo descent, with a clear complexion, approximately 5 feet tall, and weighing around 95 pounds.

Lizy’s mother has issued a heartfelt plea to the public and media in both Belize and Guatemala, asking for help in locating her daughter.

Police and community members are urging anyone with information, no matter how minor, to come forward.
