By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have cracked the case of last week’s late-night shooting on Maskall Street that left 26-year-old lines contractor Jehvon Ramclam injured. Two Belize City men were arraigned on Monday afternoon in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court in connection with the incident and have since been remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

The accused are 29-year-old Linton Floyd Maskall, a tour guide of Maskall Street, and 22-year-old Brian Ferguson, a fisherman of East Canal. Both appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Ludlow Black in Court #4, where they were jointly charged with two indictable offenses: use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm upon Ramclam.

The allegations stem from a shooting that occurred around 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Police say Ramclam was socializing with his cousins and uncle in his yard at #7078 Maskall Street when an altercation broke out between him and the two accused, who were also socializing nearby. The dispute escalated into a physical fight, during which both Maskall and Ferguson allegedly drew firearms and opened fire on Ramclam, striking him in the left thigh.

Responding to reports of gunfire at 11:35 p.m., police found two live rounds at the scene and confirmed that Ramclam had already been transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of one 9mm Aguila brand live round and one .38 S&B brand live round. No expended shells were found.

Maskall was detained early Friday morning, June 13, at around 1:40 a.m. and taken to the Raccoon Street Police Station. Ferguson was apprehended over the weekend.

Due to the serious nature of the charges, no plea was taken and bail was denied. Magistrate Black advised the men that they may seek bail through the High Court but must first spend 90 days on remand. Their next court appearance is scheduled for August 18, 2025.
