Belize braces for hot day and isolated showers as moderate easterly airflow continues

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A moderate east to southeasterly airflow is influencing weather conditions across Belize today, bringing mostly sunny skies with intervals of cloudiness. Forecasters say the day will be predominantly dry, although a few isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop, particularly in southern parts of the country this afternoon.

Later tonight, weather activity will pick up slightly along the coast, with some areas experiencing a few showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Daytime temperatures will soar, especially inland, where the mercury is expected to reach up to 94°F (34°C). Coastal areas will feel slightly cooler at 88°F (31°C), while the hills will top out around 78°F (26°C).

The National Meteorological Service continues to monitor a low-pressure system labeled AL90 located roughly 600 miles east of Bermuda. Though it could briefly become a tropical depression, it is moving northeast over open Atlantic waters and poses no threat to Belize.

Seafarers are advised that the seas will range from light chop to choppy, with waves between 2 and 5 feet. Winds will blow from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots.
