By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Sunday’s FIFA Club World Cup slate produced emphatic wins from European giants Juventus and Manchester City, while Real Madrid returned to winning form and Al Hilal and Salzburg played to a goalless draw. With one matchday remaining in Groups G and H, the knockout picture is beginning to take shape.
Juventus 4–1 Wydad AC
📍 Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Juventus opened the scoring in the 6th minute via an own goal by Abdelmounaim Boutouil. Kenan Yildiz added a brace (16’, 69’) with two clinical finishes, and Dušan Vlahović converted a penalty in stoppage time (90’+4). Thembinkosi Lorch scored Wydad’s lone goal in the 25th minute.
Real Madrid 3–1 Pachuca

Real Madrid earned their first win of the tournament with goals from Jude Bellingham (35’), Arda Guler (43’), and Federico Valverde (70’). Pachuca pulled one back through Elías Montiel in the 80th minute. Pachuca wasted several breaks in the first half.
Salzburg 0–0 Al Hilal
📍 Audi Field, Washington, D.C.
In a tightly contested Group H clash, neither side could break the deadlock. Salzburg hold on to second place with four points behind Real MaDrid on goal difference while Al Hilal remain winless after two matches.
Manchester City 6–0 Al Ain

Manchester City delivered a commanding performance to secure their place in the knockout stage of the FIFA Club World Cup with a 6–0 rout of Al Ain. Ilkay Gündogan opened the scoring in the 8th minute and added a second in the 73rd. Claudio Echeverri curled in a free kick in the 27th, and Erling Haaland converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time (45’+5). Late goals from substitutes Oscar Bobb (84’) and Rayan Cherki (89’) capped off the win.
City now sit level on six points with Juventus atop Group G, with both teams set to meet in Orlando on Thursday to decide the group winner.
