Ulric Willoughby shot dead at home; no motive yet

By Aaron Humes: Police continue to chase leads in Sunday night’s murder/aggravated burglary of 60-year-old Ulric Willoughby at his residence in the Vanilla Hills area on Bullet Tree Road, outside San Ignacio Town.

Willoughby, a real estate agent, was found lying dead on the floor in the living room of his house after 7:30 p.m. after being shot three times in the upper body by an assailant from his verandah.

ASP Stacy Smith confirmed that Willoughby was not known to have ties to criminal activity and that his residence was fairly isolated in the area. Thus far, there is neither motive nor suspect.

Willoughby joins Boris Mannsfeld of Placencia as the second real estate agent to die in recent months, but there is nothing to suggest a connection thus far or any links to their profession.
