By Breaking Belize News Staff: Former UDP Minister and Collet Area Representative Patrick Faber is scheduled to stand trial on September 16, 2025, for obstructing and assaulting a police officer during the execution of his duties.
Faber, 47, appeared in Court #2 on Tuesday morning where he was handed 23 pages of disclosure and a CD related to the case. Represented by attorney Orson “OJ” Elrington, Faber faces allegations stemming from an April 29 incident during a police checkpoint in Belize City.
According to police, Faber sped past the checkpoint and was later pulled over near Buttonwood Bay Boulevard. When informed that his vehicle was unlicensed and asked for his driver’s license, he led officers to his home. There, he allegedly recorded and aggressively approached PC Dante Smith, refusing to back away despite multiple warnings, prompting the officer to file an official report.
Faber has pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of $1,000.
