He passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at Belize Medical Associates today.

In what current Commissioner and attendee Chester Williams described as a “semi-official funeral,” police officers acted as pall bearers and in other official funeral duties.

According to reports, 90-year-old Vasquez fell down a stairs in his home and was taken for urgent medical care.

The ceremony was held at the Belmopan Civic Center.
