For the Leader of the PUP opposition Francis Fonseca to tell my relative Ivan “Maca” Ramos that he needs to step down to be replaced by Anthony Sabal, that action is in violation of the Peoples United Party Constitution. Not only is this in violation of the People’s United Party Constitution but this action taken by him is dictatorial, undemocratic and disrespectful to us the Garifuna and other people who reside in Dangriga.

Ivan Ramos won a convention to represent his political party and then went into an election which he won. He is our Representative for five years unless he decides to step down. If they are not satisfied with the job he is doing, then let them have a convention for the members of the People’s United Party in Dangriga to decide on who should replace him.

Who gives Francis Fonseca the power to appoint a puppet that he can use to represent our people. Years ago when he was the Principal of Ecumenical College, I saw him with Francis Fonseca who was the Attorney General and Minister of Education issuing out certificates at Saint John’s College when he was supposed to be at work. He was also at many other political functions, when he was supposed to be at the college doing his job as the Principal. What kind of Representative will he be if he was to be elected? If he was not on his job then there is no guarantee he will be there in the future. He has no chance of winning in Dangriga and we will make sure that he loses.

It is clear that the Leader of the PUP Opposition Francis Fonseca is getting out of control and he is the person that needs to Step Down now for violating his party’s constitution and abusing his power as the leader of the People’s United Party. My relative and my father’s family have always been PUP’s unlike me who know them well for their dirty deeds.

I hope that Ivan and my family learn from this and remove themselves from this party, which belongs to certain families and ethnic groups in Belize. If I was him, I would not step down until we go to a convention. Also, I would not even go to his Press Conference, to make him feel that I am in agreement with his unlawful action. A political party must include all the ethnic groups and families in Belize and not just some. There will me more unjustifiable actions coming from this man before election because he thinks he is God on earth. The people of Dangriga and Belize must join me in speaking out against this injustice.

Respectfully Submitted,
