By Chrisbert Garcia: A relative of 30-year-old Belize Defense Force (BDF) soldier, Isha Martinez, contacted Breaking Belize News earlier today to report that her sister has Isha Martinez missingbeen missing since Friday of last week when she was last seen or heard from and has not shown up to work either.

Martinez is based at BDF’s compound in Ladyville, Belize District and is currently four months pregnant, hence the family’s grave concerns.

We were told by her sister from the United States that Martinez was moving around trying to get her Visa approved by the embassy and they last had communication on the phone Friday afternoon when the soldier said that she was heading back to work but never made it there.

Her sister was contacted by co-workers who told her about Martinez’s unusual absence from work and she then reported it to the Belize Police Department, which has promised to look into the matter but has not come up with any leads thus far.

Pictures are attached for easy identification of Isha Martinez and the public is asked to kindly contact the nearest police station with any information that could assist in locating her.
