Fetus found on river bank in Benque Viejo

By BBN Staff: According to police reports, on Saturday evening, December 31, 2016 around 4:15, acting upon information received, Benque Viejo Police visited an area along the banks of the Mopan River on Riverside Street, Benque Viejo Town, where they saw a large transparent coffee glass bottle with brown cover on top which contained a black in color plastic bag.

The police observed a fully formed fetus believed to be of a male gender apparently dead.

No one was in the area at the time of the discovery.

The fetus was retrieved and transported to the San Ignacio Town Community Hospital where the doctor pronounced him dead.

The fetus awaits a post mortem examination.
