San Pedro bartender survives being shot to the head in robbery

By BBN Staff: A San Pedro bartender, who was shot to the head over the weekend in a robbery at the bar he works, was discharged from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) after receiving treatment for the non-life-threatening injury.

Osner Campos was working his shift at Wayo’s bar on the island on Saturday night in the Boca Del Rio area of town when two armed men entered and demanded cash. A gun toting bandit fired a single shot towards the bar while running off with the cash. That shot ricocheted off the wall and hit Campos in the head.

He was taken San Pedro Polyclinic and was later taken to Belize city for treatment.

Police have no suspects in custody for the crime.

Investigations continue.
