By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for tools that were stolen from Ayuso’s Construction last week.
Reports are that the tools were stolen from a red storage container in the Belama Phase 2 area of Belize City sometime between 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, and 6:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16.
Head of Communications for the Office of the Commissioner of Police, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood explained that three generators, one pressure washer, one grinder, six drills, one air compressor, a hammer drill, and two bags of assorted tools, all to a total value of $10,000, were stolen from the container.
“I would just like to alert the public, especially these pawn shops, to be on the lookout for these things,” Yearwood said. “We know that it takes you a while to gather up tools like that, and the value of the tools speaks a lot. Whosoever committed this crime will be looking at how they can get the best value for their haul.”
Yearwood asked the public to also be considerate of the loss the business has incurred and urged that if anyone comes selling tools believed to be from the burglary to report it to police using the Tips hotline at 922.
