University of West Indies celebrate 75th Anniversary

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: This year, the University of the West Indies is celebrating its 75th anniversary under the theme, “Rooted, Ready, Rising”.

The year-long celebration activities include award ceremonies, academic seminars, benefit gala and tree planting ceremonies at various campuses.

On April 26, 2023, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Francis Fonseca joined in the tree planting ceremony at the University’s campus in Belize.

Minister Fonseca pledged Belize’s continued support and commitment to the growth and development of our regional University.

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is an internationally recognised university, rooted in the Caribbean.
