Tropical wave AL92 could become Tropical Depression today in Atlantic

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are closely monitoring an area of low pressure located roughly midway between Africa and the Lesser Antilles.

This system has become better organized overnight and is close to becoming a tropical cyclone. 

Forecasters say this system could develop into a tropical depression today.

This system is forecast to move generally westward at 15 to 20 mph with further development across the central tropical Atlantic through the middle part of this week. 

This system has a 100% chance of formation through the next 48 hours.

Another tropical wave located several hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is also being closely watched as it could strengthen to a tropical depression during the next few days.

This system has a 40% chance of formation through the next 7 days.
