Galen University graduates over 150 at 20th graduation ceremony

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Sunday, July 16, 2023, Galen University hosted its 20^th convocation exercise at the Saint Catherine Multipurpose Mercy Center in Belize City.

One hundred and fifty-seven students graduated from the prestigious University that prides itself in providing excellence in education and preparing students to achieve their dreams and goals.

Thirty-eighty students graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology with degrees in Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Associates in Veterinary Technician.

Thirty-one graduated with Diploma in Migration Management.

From the Faculty of Education, 33 graduated with Bachelor of Education degrees in Elementary Education and Secondary Education, 3 graduated with Diploma in Pedagogy and Diploma in Belizean Studies and Social Studies and 10 graduated with Post Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education Leadership.

Of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, 29 students graduated with degrees in Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Hospitality and Tourism Management, International Business and Marketing.

In addition, 13 graduated with Master of Business Administration.

Celine Chan achieved the highest grade point average of all undergraduate students and delivered the Welcome Address.

Alfonso Young achieved the highest grade point average of all graduate students and delivered the Closing Remarks.

Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Economic Development, Osmond Martinez was the Keynote Speaker at the event.

Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr.Godwin Hulse ( Honorary) conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on former Government Minister Daniel Silva.

Silva was instrumental in the establishment of Galen University, Saint Ignatius High School and has contributed significantly to the development of San Ignacio, Santa Elena and the surrounding communities.

Galen University extended congratulations to Galen Eagles on this milestone achievement in their educational journeys.
