By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Don as it moves over warmer waters.
As of this morning, Don was located some 760 miles West southwest of the Azores.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Gradual strengthening is indicated during the next couple of days, with little change in strength expected late this week.
Elsewhere in the Atlantic, forecasters are monitoring a tropical wave centered a few hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands.
While dry air should prevent significant organization during the next few days, environmental conditions could become more conducive for some development by this weekend while the wave moves westward across the central tropical Atlantic at 15 to 20 mph.
This system has a 20% chance of formation through the next 7 days.
