Terrifying aggravated burglary leaves one injured on Antelope Street extension

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Last night Antelope Street Extension in Belize City faced an unexpected incident as gunfire broke out, targeting a local residence. One individual sustained both gunshot and stab injuries during the attack by three armed individuals.

According to reports, on Sunday, 27th August, around 7:40 pm, police were alerted and quickly reached A&J Cool Spot, a known landmark on the street. On-site, they encountered a 24-year-old resident.

The resident described the sequence of events. While she was in an adjacent store, she heard disturbances from the main residence where her child, partner, and stepfather were present.

On checking, she observed one attacker confronting a family member with a knife. A second individual, dressed in black, aimed a gun at another resident. Before she could react, a third individual, in a red t-shirt and black hat, entered her store, brandishing a weapon.

Two gunshots were heard before the attackers left, heading towards the nearby cemetery.

On entering the house, she found the family member with gunshot and stab injuries. Immediate medical attention was sought at KHMH.

Police secured the scene and collected evidence, including a bullet. As investigations proceed, the community is urged to share any relevant information to aid in capturing those responsible.
