National Meteorological Service of Belize predicts clear skies and calm seas ahead

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belizeans can anticipate a pleasant day as a drier air mass continues to influence the region’s weather. According to the latest update from the National Meteorological Service of Belize, partly cloudy skies were expected last night, leading to a mostly sunny day today.

The report, delivered by Forecaster Francisca Wellington highlights that any showers or thunderstorms will remain isolated. However, southern areas might have experienced a slightly higher frequency of these showers last night.

Beachgoers and those planning seaside activities will be pleased with the marine conditions. The sea state is calm, described as “slight” with waves reaching only between 1 to 3 feet. Sailors and fisherfolk can expect eastward winds moving at a gentle pace of 5-10 knots.

As for the temperatures, coastal areas will experience highs of 89 °F (32 °C) and lows of 81 °F (27 °C). Those inland can expect it to be slightly warmer with temperatures reaching up to 95 °F (35 °C) during the day and cooling down to 74 °F (23 °C). Meanwhile, the hills will remain cooler with a high of 82 °F (28 °C) and a low of 68 °F (20 °C).

A quick look ahead reveals that the calm weather trend will likely continue. The outlook for tonight and Friday is set for only isolated showers or thunderstorms.

For those planning their daily routines around the sun and moon’s movements, today’s sunrise was at 5:40 AM and will set by 5:55 PM. The moon rose shortly before the sun at 5:18 AM and will set just two minutes after sunset at 5:57 PM.

High tide was expected last night at 9:37 PM, with the low tide scheduled for the early hours at 3:26 AM. By late morning today, at 9:29 AM, the tides will rise once again, with the next low tide expected at 4:16 PM.
