Plane crashes pre-dawn near Placencia airstrip under suspicious circumstances

By Aaron Humes: Police and fire crews are presently on the scene of what appears to be a plane crash near Mile 21 on Placencia Road.

Preliminary reports say the plane may have either been trying to take off or land at the airstrip when it crashed and caught on fire.

Authorities are also trying to establish whether the plane belonged to a local airline or was a so-called “narco plane,” as well as who may have been inside. Those investigations continue.
