Belize wins Samsung Solve for Tomorrow innovation Challenge!

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology has extended congratulations to Pallotti High School students, Amber Wright, Alair Marin, Irian Jones, and Osvani Magaña, on their success as CHAMPIONS of the 2023 Samsung Solve For Tomorrow Challenge held in Panama.

The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Challenge is a global science, technology and innovation challenge held annually by Korean tech giant, Samsung.

This competition encourages students to tackle emerging challenges and produce tangible innovative solutions to social issues.

This year, Belize and Barbados were invited to participate in the Challenge via the Latin America region – this is the first time that English-speaking countries were invited to participate.

Over 9,000 students from over 100 schools from the Latin American and Caribbean region participated in this year’s challenge.

“It’s beyond amazing that we have won the championship on our first attempt at the Challenge,” the Ministry said,
