Date Set for Resumption of the Sale of Boledo Lottery, Ordinary Lottery and Jackpot Lottery under the Belize Government Lotteries Limited

On May 2, 2023, the government lotteries (Boledo, Ordinary Lottery and Jackpot Lottery) were paused. After considering the importance of the government lottery, due to its cultural significance and the tax revenues it generates, Cabinet instructed the incorporation of the Belize Government Lotteries Limited (BGLL), a company owned by the Government of Belize and whose core mandate is to administer, sell, and promote the Belize government lotteries.

On June 12, 2023, the invitation to bid for the provision of service as Master Agent for the sale of lottery tickets for the Belize Government Lottery was initiated through an open tender process. The BGLL is pleased to announce that the selection process for sales distributors has concluded.

Under the Belize Government Lotteries Ltd., sales distributors shall be responsible for the sale and distribution of Boledo Lottery, Ordinary Lottery, and Jackpot Lottery. The successful applicants are Nando’s Wholesale Ltd. and MGM Entertainment Ltd., whose sales distribution zones are as follows:

Eastern Zone (Belize District)

Northern Zone (Corozal & Orange Walk districts)

Western Zone (Cayo District)

Southern Zone (Stann Creek & Toledo districts)

With the process now complete, the sale of government lottery shall resume on December 1, 2023, with the first drawing to be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
