Belize Weather: Moist and unstable conditions prevail

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts cloudy to overcast skies with a few showers, isolated thunderstorms and periods of widespread moderate to heavy rain countrywide.

High temperatures peak at 81 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 84 degrees over inland areas and 70 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 75 degrees along the coast, 72 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds will be northeasterly at five to 15 knots. Sea conditions are moderate.

A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. There is an excessive rainfall warning as excessive rainfall has been reported in portions of central and southern Belize, expected to continue through today. A strong thunderstorm watch is in effect for possible heavy rainfall, intense lightning and damaging winds from thunderstorms.

Tides will be low at 11:56 this morning and 11:35 tonight, and high at 6:10 this evening. The sun sets at 5:18 this evening and rises at 5:53 Tuesday morning.

Tuesday should see similar weather conditions continue around the country.
