Man charged for allegedly shooting up business owner’s vehicle

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man, Jeremy James Flores, 20, was charged and arraigned in court on Monday for allegedly shooting at a business owner’s vehicle.

Flores appeared in court unrepresented and was read two charges, one of discharging a firearm in public and the other of damage to property.

On November 26, businessman Arthur Tillett reported to police that he had just arrived at his business place on Barbara Harris Street and went inside when he heard several loud bangs. He came outside and saw three bullet holes in his Honda CRV.

Police visited the scene and recovered surveillance footage from the area and were able to identify Flores, who was charged for the crime. He was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison. He is due back in court on February 5, 2024.
