Leader of the Opposition donates $5000 to Miss Universe Belize Pageant

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On April 12, 2024, Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow handed over a cheque of $5,000 to the Miss Universe Belize pageant.

“As someone who comes from the Fine Arts, I recognize pageantry for the art form it is.

These powerful women define performing art. Beauty that exudes not just physically but the inner strength, grace and character is the true beauty.

I commend these powerful women for sharing themselves with us, for entertaining us, for inspiring us, for leading us with their advocacy,” Barrow stated.

Barrow says that as a nation, “we must always prioritize the Fine Arts and pageantry certainly is high ranking on the list.”

“Beauty, brains, grace and power is how I can best describe these extraordinary women, all with their unique version of the best Belize has to offer,” Barrow expressed.

The Leader of the Opposition also extended best wishes to all the Delegates and former Miss Universe Belize, Destiny Arnold and her Executive team in taking this pageant to highest heights.

Barrow expressed excitement to see Belize being represented on the world stage.
