Update: Home invasion reported in Hattieville

Tuesday, August 18th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: A husband and wife living on the Burrell Boom-Hattieville road were targeted by armed robbers pretending to be police officers over the weekend. Police responded but were not able to get the robbers on time.home invasion

Officer Commanding Eastern Division (Rural) Senior Superintendent Edward Broaster told BMG that the trio gained access and robbed $500 from the couple.

One of the men also tried to hit the husband but missed and hit one of his companions instead, after which they fled.

Police are now on the trail of the suspects, who are believed to be Hispanic and speak only Spanish. Two of the suspects are believed to be in their 20s and the other to be older.

Police have recovered some shirts and a bloody rag from the area as of this morning as well as a dropped bag of coins but they have no other leads.
