BREAKING: Father asks for help finding missing 13-year-old daughter

Saturday, October 3, 2015. BMG: A father is tonight pleading to the general public for assistance in locating his 13-year-old- daughter, Katia Mejia.

The teenager is of Hispanic descent and ran away from her home on Thursday of last week.

According to information received just now, the teenager was last seen with her mother. Relatives of Katia Mejia told Belize Media Group that the father has full custody of the teenager and they believe that Katia could be in Guatemala at this time.

The relatives also believe that the mother could be taking the child to the US illegally. Katia Mejia was last seen in her school uniform, brown skirt and white blouse with yellow epaulets.

She has light brown eyes, light skin, and is about 5ft and 3 inches in height. Anyone with information is asked to kindly contact the nearest police station or contact Santos Danilo Castro, the father of Katia Mejia at 625.9466.
