The PUP, which has been firmly standing against the use of PetroCaribe Funds, denied that any such request for money had been made by a PUP representative. Interestingly and very much ironically, a press release from the Ministry of Finance stated that $25,000 was requested by an elected PUP representative and granted to be used in their Mother’s/Father’s day program from the PetroCaribe Funds.

Although the name of the representative was not released, it is speculated that Ivan Ramos, Dangriga Area Representative was the recipient of those monies.

The press release also stated that funding is available to all elected representatives up until June 12, 2015 to be used for Mother’s and Father’s day programs.
