Bar destroyed by fire in Santa Familia

BBN Staff: The owner of Ego Rio bar in Santa Familia Village, Cayo District, suffered a $20,000 loss to a fire which destroyed the structure and its contents last night around 7:15.

Manuel Humes, 60, told officers that at 6:30 p.m., he and the bar’s owner locked it and left for the night but just half an hour later, he was informed that it was on fire.

He stated that when he arrived, he saw the 30 feet in diameter and 15 feet in height structure, engulfed in flames. Police are investigating.
