According to the release from Stirm, “53 African nations had tabled a resolution to defer this appointment claiming that there is no International legal basis for empowering such a position to enforce ‘homosexual rights’ upon nations.”
Belize had voted along with these African nations but went on later to change its vote.
Stirm and his organization went on the record to express their grave disappointment at the vote made by our ambassador.
“Belize needs to know that their Government voted in favour of the United Nations globally imposing of homosexual rights to the nations in direct violation to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,” the release concluded.
