GOB Ministers meet with Village Council and Water Board Representatives from Belize Rural North Constituency

By BBN Staff: At a meeting held yesterday in Ladyville, Minister of Local Government, Labour, and Rural Development, Hugo Patt, and Minister of Transport and National Emergency Management,  Edmond Castro met with village council and water board representatives from Belize Rural North Constituency to discuss issues affecting the villages, particularly those relating to water services.

Patt said that he and his Ministry are conducting similar meetings throughout the country as a follow up to earlier meetings held with village councils nationwide to address issues affecting them and their communities.

According to Patt, the main focus is on Water Boards because they realize that it is one of the most pressing issues in communities countrywide.

Following yesterday’s meeting; a donation of four (4) weed-wackers was made to the villages of Lucky Strike, Gardenia, Flowers Bank and Willows Bank, all in Belize Rural North.

The Minister of Transport and National Emergency Management, Edmon Castro said that the equipment will greatly assist those elected village councils in maintaining their community grounds and keeping their villages clean.
