Police officer in critical condition after car accident

BBN Staff:  There was a near fatal accident up north yesterday. Around 10:15 p.m., police visited the Belize/Corozal Road in the Orange Walk district.

There, cops observed a Meilun motorcycle attached to the Guinea Grass village Police Substation and a Ford Escape with damages. Investigations revealed that the cycle was driven by PC Enid Tillett, 27, attached to the Guinea Grass Substation.

He was traveling on the Belize/Corozal Road from a north to south direction.

The Ford Escape was being driven by Jesus Enrique Muñoz, 24.

Both drivers were traveling in the opposite direction when they collided. As a result, PC Tillett received head and body injuries and was rushed to the  Northern Regional Hospital in an unconscious state.

He was later transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where his condition is listed as serious.

Police investigations continues.
