Orange Walk police investigating Otro Benque road accident

BBN Staff: Last night around 9:40, Orange Walk Police responded to a report of a road traffic accident on the Otro Benque Road.

There, police saw a black Lifan motorcycle off to the side of the road extensively damaged and a Lincoln Zephyr also off the road.

Police investigations revealed that Rastani Lightburn, 23, was driving the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr car on the Otro Benque Road and the black Lifan motorcycle was traveling on the opposite direction when both vehicles collided head on.

The motorcycle was being driven at the time by Alberto Marin, 32, of San Jose village.

Marin received head and bodily injuries while Lightburn complained of pain to the body.

A notice of intended prosecution was issued to Rastani.

He was arrested for the offense of failure to provide specimen.

Police investigation continues.
