Man found guilty of attempted murder of his cousin

BBN Staff: He was accused of the 2012 attempted murder of his cousin, Taisha Staine. However, yesterday in court, Kevaughan Staine was found guilty before Justice Collin Williams.

He will be sentenced on September 5, 2018.

Just before midnight on the night of December 31, 2012, Taisha was making her way home in the Lake Independence area of Belize City when Kevaughan approached her on a bicycle and opened fire.

She was shot in her neck, leg, hand, back, and chest.

Court documents reveal that she was shot nine times.

Throughout the trial, Kevaughan represented by Hubert Elrington, maintained his innocence. The crown was represented by Rene Montero Jr.
