National Garifuna Council elects new Executive

BBN Staff:The National Garifuna Council (NGC) held its 34th annual convention in Dangriga town, Stann Creek on Saturday and Sunday, May 19  and 20.

The NGC elected its new executive committee with Sandra Miranda being re-elected as President.

The NGC announced its new committee:

Vice President- Andrew Castillo

Second Vice president- Cynthia Cayetano

Secretary-Sheena Zuniga

Assistant Secretary- Melissa Zuniga

Treasurer-Sharon Castillo

Assistant Treasurer -Aritha Sabal

The theme for this year’s Celebration was “Garifuna Progress: A task for all Garinagu! Hadasi sun Garinagu Lawanserun Garifunaduau!”

The 2019 convention is scheduled to take place in Orange Walk.
