Punta Gorda resident who was shot in head refuses court action

By BBN Staff: On June 29, police responded to Jose Maria Nunez street in Punta Gorda and saw Brighton Jacobs, 21, with an apparent gunshot injury to the back of his head.

According to police, Jacobs was riding on on his bicycle when he was approached by two men riding in the opposite direction.

One of the men reportedly fired the shot that caught Jacobs in the back of the head.

Police have since been investigating the matter, but Jacobs has been reluctant to cooperate with police.

Police say they have a suspect but Jacobs has not requested court action.
