No decision made yet on Arthur Saldivar says PUP Chairman

BBN Staff:  Numerous media outlets have reported that attorney-at-law, Arthur Saldivar, has again been denied of the opportunity to participate in a convention for the standard bearer in the constituency of Belmopan held by the People’s United Party (PUP).

However, yesterday during his appearance on the PUP’s Morning Show, PUP Chairman Henry Usher, denied all claims.

He confirmed that Saldivar did reapply for the post but the vetting committee has not yet made any decision.

“What the media is reporting is false,” said Usher.

He indicated that if any decision had been made, the committee would have compiled a report and present it to him and then Saldivar would have been informed.

The Saldivar saga dates back to the end of June when a convention was to have been held in Belmopan.

Saldivar and Patrick Jason Andrew were both denied from participating for various matters.

Saldivar went on to initiate a legal claim against the party during which the party decided to postpone the convention and reopen the opportunity for re-application.
