Victor Martinez survives attempt on his life

BBN Staff: On Saturday night there was a shooting near West Canal in Belize city.

According to police, Victor Martinez, 24, was shot in the palm of his hand.

Initial investigations revealed that he was about to enter his home when he was accosted by an armed assailant.

A physical struggle ensued during which the firearm discharged and the assailant ran away.

Martinez was then transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

Police are yet to establish a motive for this incident.
