By Galen University: Galen University advises its public and stakeholders that it has reviewed all the evidence surrounding the altercation at the Monday March 4, 2019 ATLIB Football Match hosted by the University of Belize at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan. We have participated fully in the investigation of the ATLIB Sports Association, and will abide by its decision that our athlete be suspended indefinitely from all matches and sporting events.

Internal disciplinary measures have also been applied to our athlete.

We regret that we participated in an athletic match at which no security measures were in place. In the future, our athletes will not participate in any match where adequate arrangements, especially security measures, are not in place.

Galen University prides ourselves on a tradition of excellence in disciplined sportsmanship, and values the role of athletics in the development of our students. Over the past four years, we have expanded our sports disciplines to include our Lady Eagles participating in Basketball, Football and Volleyball, and proudly reintroduced our Eagles La Ruta Maya male team this past weekend. Moreover, we are encouraged by the recent victory of our Lady Eagles Football team on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

We will continue to work with our athletes to ensure that they not only excel on the field, court and river, but also academically and in their personal and professional lives.
