Traffic accident claims life of 1 man; several others injured

BBN Staff:A man lost his life as a result of a traffic accident that occurred last night on the Southern Highway.

Around 9:05 pm, police responded to a report of a traffic accident between miles 5 and 6 on the Southern Highway.

There, police saw a green Nissan pickup truck and a white Ford Ranger pickup extensively damaged.

Authorities also saw Alvaro Orellano and 5 other occupants from the Nissan pick-up with varying degrees of injuries. 

The white Ford Ranger pickup was being driven by Francisco Trimillo. Trimillo had 2 occupants in the vehicle.

 All persons were transported to Southern Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

Orellano succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigation continues.
