BBN Staff: A Corozal mechanic has been detained pending charges of drug trafficking.

Around 11:40 last night, police conducted a search in a Ford 150 belonging to Joel Recinos, 40, of Corozal.

Police discovered 20 parcels of weed in the gas tank of the truck.

The cannabis had a total of over 45 pounds.

 Recinos was detained pending charges of drug trafficking.
