By BBN Staff: A robber was shot with his own weapon yesterday afternoon in Belmopan.
A police report indicates that around 1:12 pm, authorities responded to a robbery at Puma Gas Station on Constitution Drive in Belmopan.
The cashier informed the police that she was approached by a lone gunman who demanded money.
The gunman then went to 2 of the attendants, pointed the gun at them, and demanded cash.
The robber took $1,200 cash and then escaped.
However, one of the attendants got into a vehicle and pursued the robber near Garbutt Creek Street in Belmopan.
There, both men engaged in a struggle until the attendant managed to take away the firearm and shot the culprit on his hand.
The robber was rushed to the Belmopan Hospital where he is admitted in a stable condition.
