Did Belizean parents abandon baby at Guatemalan Hospital?

By BBN Staff: Last night, News 5 Belize broke the story of a 6-month-old baby who was abandoned by Belizean parents at a Guatemalan hospital.

According to the report, the Belizean parents left their baby at the hospital in San Benito Poite, Guatemala.

The infant was admitted at the hospital as Kyle Manuel Avilez Junior with burnt injuries to his hand.

However, sources to BBN confirmed that the accused mother, Tameka Vargas posted to her social media page that the report is false and that since her baby was injured, she has been with him at the hospital 24 hours a day.

The News 5 report also indicates that the father of the baby was smoking marijuana inside his house and caused a gas tank explosion. 

The child sustained burnt injuries as a result.
