Regional director of Inter-American scout region visits Belize

By BBN Staff: The Scout Association of Belize issued a statement today informing that the Regional Director of the Inter-American Scout Region, Raul Sanchez, is visiting Belize.

Sanchez is being accompanied by Jean Rodriguez Bodden.

The purpose of the visit is to conduct the Global Support Assessment Tool (GSAT).

The GSAT is a quality standard owned by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). GSAT is one of many support services offered by the Inter-American Scout Region to help with the betterment of the National Scout Organization.

The purpose of this standard is to serve as a reference of best practice for National Scout Organizations (NSOs).

The application of this standard will enable NSOs to assess their strengths and areas of improvement and, as an outcome, to improve their accountability to stakeholders.

Sanchez and Bodden met with members of the National Scout Committee to discuss the procedure on how the assessment will be carried out.

Sanchez and Bodden leave Belize on Friday November 8th.
