Two Belizean women and several other people lose their lives in traffic accident

By BBN Staff:  Confirmed reports are that two Belizean women and several others including tourists lost their lives this afternoon in a road traffic accident.

Mayra Alcoser, an employee of Scotiabank and Lourdes Wade, an employee of the Social Security Board, both died today as a result of the fatal traffic accident.

A tour van and a red SUV reportedly collided near mile 17 on the George Price Highway this afternoon.

The names and nationalities of the other victims have not yet been confirmed or released.

We will provide more details when police issue an official report.
